Each homeroom in grades 5-8 will have physical education/health one day a week, occurring on the same day each week.  Running concurrently with the course, the remaining students in their grade, along with another grade level, will be participating in their Response to Intervention time for the day. This approach is designed to provide more specific interventions and supports for our students, and best utilize the school day and state requirements. During the first two marking periods, students will be learning in the physical education curriculum. Marking periods 3 and 4 will explore the health curriculum.

A physical education uniform will be required for students to wear. We will not require our students to change during the day for PE, but will allow them to wear their PE uniform the entire day as their uniform. Physical Education Uniform garments can be purchased at the link: https://www.agpestores.com//logomotive/groupproducts.php?prodgroup_id=26859&prodgroupbypass=true. All orders must be placed prior to September 13th. As we are using a local vendor, they will mass produce the items and distribute them to us in a timely manner. Until that time, we ask that the standard uniform policy be utilized until further notice.

Thank you for your patience as we integrate physical education and health into our curriculum. As shared previously, our mission and vision of SDSA is to teach through the arts, and our commitment to that has not and will not change.
